Designing for Healing: How Our 'MELT' Wallcoverings Transform Dermatology Centers

As a design firm inspired by nature and wellness, we believe that design can play a crucial role in creating soothing, healing spaces. That's why we were thrilled to work with two leading dermatology centers, UnionDerm (Union Square & Central Park locations) and Dermatology Center of Newport Beach, to bring our signature wallpaper, MELT in the ‘Dusk’ colorway, to their patient rooms and hallways. 

The Union Square Dermatology project, designed by the talented team at Studio AI, was all about creating accent walls that would provide a calming contrast to the clinical environment. By using MELT in Dusk, we were able to bring a sense of natural dimension to the patient rooms, with its subtle gradations of color evoking the softness of a sunset. The result was a space that felt both elegant and welcoming, providing patients with a sense of comfort and serenity as they received treatment. 

Along with our MELT in "Dusk" colorway, we also used our Aegean | Ocean wallcovering print for the bathrooms of UnionDerm’s 2 NYC locations. The Aegean | Ocean print draws inspiration from the sea and features a calming blue and white palette. This print was the perfect complement to the MELT wallcovering in the patient rooms, creating a cohesive and serene atmosphere throughout the entire facility.

The Dermatology Center of Newport Beach project, designed by CDC Designs, was a bit different in that it focused on an accent panel in the hallway. The goal was to create a sense of continuity throughout the space, while also introducing an element of surprise. The MELT in Dusk wallpaper was the perfect solution, providing a warm and inviting backdrop to the hallway that helped to create a sense of flow and unity. 

In addition to the Melt | Dusk wallcovering used in the hallway, the Dermatology Center of Newport Beach also incorporated our Falcon | Cloud print in the waiting and patient rooms. This print, inspired by the peregrine falcon; an omnipotent, prophetic spirit, creates a sense of tranquility and serenity. The soft colors and organic shapes in this print perfectly complement the soothing atmosphere of the patient rooms, while the bold spirit of the falcon adds a touch of strength and power. The use of this print in both the waiting and patient rooms further underscores the center's commitment to “creating a cohesive and holistic healing environment for their patients."

One of the things we love about working on projects like these is how versatile our wallcoverings can be. MELT in Dusk, for example, is a product that can easily adapt to a wide range of settings. Whether it's used as a bold accent wall or a more subtle background, it always manages to add a sense of depth and dimension to a space.
