MYSTIQUE, a line of non-repeating murals by Jill Malek, is a pattern collection inspired by some of the enigmatic wonders of the world that mystify and spiritually captivate us. Scaled to custom fit a space, the patterns are digitally printed on textured, embossed surfaces, available with optional dimensional felt accents, sewn by hand into the base material. In line with Jill Malek’s ongoing fascination with fluid forms in nature, the technique of marrying two material layers is an expression of her interest in shifting scales in nature, and challenges our notion of a flat wallcovering surface by creating added tactility and visual depth.
