Murals Underfoot: Introducing Our New Hand-Tufted Rug Collection
Posted by Julian Moran on
This short film offers a glimpse into the making of Murals Underfoot, our new collection of hand-tufted rugs inspired by the same natural rhythms, fluid forms and layered textures found throughout our wallcoverings and murals. The video captures the thinking behind the collection, from early pattern development to the tactile details that bring each rug to life.
Murals Underfoot brings our nature-inspired visual language from the wall onto the floor. Created as a continuation of our mural work, the collection explores how pattern, texture and movement can shape the atmosphere of a room through a more grounded and tactile surface.
The collection includes three hand-tufted patterns: TIDES, MELT and FALCON. Each began as a wallcovering design, then was reinterpreted for the floor through shifts in scale, pile height, softness and material presence. TIDES draws from the ebb and flow of water moving in and out from shore. MELT is inspired by the shifting color of a setting sun, where tones soften and blur gradually over time. FALCON takes its reference from the layered texture of a falcon’s feathers, creating a dimensional sense of depth and movement. Together, the three rugs extend our immersive approach to interiors. They are designed to ground a space, soften its architecture and create a quieter connection between the floor, the walls and the larger room.
Whether specified for a residential interior, hospitality project or design-led commercial space, Murals Underfoot offers a tactile material language rooted in movement, atmosphere and intention.
